Well we finally did it....

Yes indeed, it has been a very long time
 and one would think that this would be a common occurrence with us..
BUT it has not been of late.
So I am pleased to announce to all
 that we are back in the saddle(as it were)!
Yes indeed, we went birding..
 and while our first outing was with the wrong cameras and lens..
 not to worry , we simply came back and got what we needed and voila.
We were in business.
Good thing too as the morning it was so dang windy that you could not get a thing anyway!

Afternoon offered up a crested titmouse, green jays, Altamira orioles, yellow rumped warbler, curved bill thrasher, clay coloured thrush, orange crown warbler,some kind of really pretty small dove and a a gorgeous golden fronted woodpecker.Now we also saw a great kiskadee and a female pyruhluxia.

It was hot and humid.. and there were lots of butterflies out and about as well... I do not know the names of many of them but they look similar to many we have at home..

We also were entertained by many squirrels.. little ones and big ones and very nonplussed at our being there.
It was last drink of the day, so they really did not worry about us at all.

So we had lots of fun and enjoyed doing what we used to do every day for the last umpteen years..
