March 26th 2011

We are finally and truly on our way home now.

A Geyser we had the dinstinct pleasure of watching toil and bubble..
and even spew!!!
Quite the feat considering it goes only sporadically
and we waited maybe ten minutes!!!
Nice road to get to it as well.
NOT!

A world class museum, John Wesley Powell and the History of the River. Strange in a town that looks like everyone forgot about it
and they have this incredible museum.

From there to the back country to find ancient wall paintings
dating back if one can believe the info, 2000 years!
Some are in fabulous condition
and I might add the area they were found in is not all that easy to get to.
Road was somewhat predictable in such a remote place.
 Curious thought though,
no matter which road we took and some were plain crazy !
They were all grated and quite recently!

Found an old ghost town with some buildings in remarkable shape.
An old coal mining town long since forgotten.

The way back to our RV park provided yet more drama
as we got nailed with a powerful hail storm.
I was deeply pleased we were out of these remote canyons when that hit.

Back in Green River it looked as if the storm simply forgot to touch down..
found a good little grocery store and got some milk etc..
 headed back to the park.
Had soup(it was that kind of day)
and did some laundry, this morning we are packing up for a nothing little overnight...
then Wells Nevada..
and the greatest cup of coffee anywhere in the USA!!!
AND the best little eatery anywahere...
Bella's.

Next time you hear from us will be Mountain Home, Idaho.
Doing some outlet shopping and Costco
then we will head for Pendleton
and we should arrive home soon there after..

But until we pull up in front of our land based home..
it ain't over til it's over.

Thanks for hanging out with us once again.

  1. Glad to read that you are headed homeward Gaye. You have been missed - and your hummers are wondering where you are I'm sure.
Even your "non-adventure" trips and stops turn into exciting experiences and I've enjoyed riding along.
    Travel safe you two,
