Getting warmer every day.....

So we spent a couple days in Quartzite... Mecca of Tacky.
It was OK.. and hardly anyone there yet..
funny because by end of December there will possibly be 1 million people!
That is what we were told...
Went to the bookstore and yes sirree,
there is a guy who walks around wearing nothing but his hat and a POUCH!
OMG..... he did have some amazing books though
and one forgets the guy is just plain weird looking wearing that get up.

We stopped off in Yuma..
OK I hear a collective gasp...
I know I said I would never ever go there again.
BUT we have family there and wanted to drop off a wee thing for them
and see the new floor that SHE(Irene) put in..
OMG.
What a beautiful job and does it look swanky now..
it is a beautiful 40 foot Grand Junction and has always looked good.
Now it looks fantastic.. job well done Irene..
We know who to come to... hahahaha
Then we visited our old neighbours in Yuma..
wonderful couple from WA.
Dropped off a little Okanogan goodies for them and were on our way.. south..

Ajo... pronounced AHHHH hoe... and it apparently means garlic!
We are 40 miles from Mexico
and 30 miles from the Gulf of California...
we are here to see Organ Pipe National Forest.
No need for a guided tour and no need for fear...
the ranger we spoke to says all is good
and to feel free to roam around on any hiking trail.

So after four years of drug cartel activity
they (criminals) seem to have re-located.
Great news for us...
as we have wanted to go here for a long time.

Also there are wild burros in the area
and we will check it out to see if anyone has a heads up on locating them..
We have five days here
so I should hopefully fill my hiking boots with cacti, sand, and all sorts of desert goodies..
Oh how I love the desert...

Thank you for joining us on all of our adventures..
 we like having you along.
Peace
