Yellowstone-Day 6

After having a great time at lunch in a local eatery.
The great came from our friends Jan and James..
Always good to see them again, and hear their adventures thus far.
Thank you both for the updates on the status at the fox den as you knew it.

The three of us headed back into the valley(Lamar) looking for pretty much any activity from animals.. the human kind we saw.
Funny thing is you always know "something" is maybe happening
when you see a line of people in clothing that denotes "SERIOUS" photographers.
It is rather like "SERIOUS" birders.
There appears to be a uniform that is worn and you can spot them a mile away.
You know the camo everything
( I thought I was kind of in that club for awhile with my camo camera covers)

Ya know earth colours, so we all blend in with nature
while there are ten to fourteen standing in one area with 500, 600 mm lens and all or most with extenders on ..
And this is a mere 200 to 400 feet away!!
You ask what they are doing and what is the interest
and if you are not one of them,
they tell you they are waiting for a sunset or it is Bluebirds.
SERIOUSLY!!!!!
We saw a woman who told us the night before they were waiting for a sunset,
pointed in the wrong direction and with huge lens..
and who is the dumb ass?
So where ever this was happening, we drove on by..

AND EUREKA!!!
Lee's keen eyes found a great looking solitary badger just posing and waiting for us!
No one around and there we three were, one in shorts and a desert tee shirt, one with a red tee and blue jeans and one in jeans and ordinary shirt..
what was not ordinary was we were there with OUR big lens
and we got KICK BUTT shots of this badger.
When others stopped to ask "whaddya see"?
 Gord replied
"Bluebirds" and some one said "oh pish"

On our way back out of the valley we stopped in at the local attraction,
the fox den where everyone is currently glued to the spot in case the badger makes yet another daily appearance out of the den where he ate two fox kits!
Saw the woman who told us she was waiting for the sunset then night before
and I smiled at her as she gawked at our lens.
I am guessing she dismissed us as hardly worth a second look
because we did not have any camera gear with us when we first encountered her.

So we left the area and the major players doing their thing...
we went home very, very pleased with the fact we got what we did not think we would and we got them good!!!
Life is really quite a trip when you are open to possibilities.

Today we go to meet an old friend from  Salt Lake City.. and this will be a fun re-union.

So I leave you with...
see what there is
and do not be dismissed for any reason.
We all have importance and we all have worth..
 it comes in different packages
and it is always a joy to behold.

Treat your self with kindness and then others..
say just for the heck of it!
And smile it will increase your face value!

We are always glad to have you join us..
 and see you next time.
PEACE
