Day 8-Last day in Yellowstone

The day started with a trip to the geysers once again.
The sunny clear skies really helped in presenting the true colours of these wonderful steaming water holes.

We wandered around and got the Gibbons Water Falls..
very attractive and full as it is still large amounts of run off.
The valleys are so lush and green..
 it is amazing to see.

We went to the Main lodge as I was dressed way too warm
and needed to get a lighter shirt to wear.
Lots of people there..
and we needed to get going out into the more remote areas.

Headed to a spot for a wee walk for the pups and a picnic lunch with the Howe's.
Thanks for the cheese and crackers guys... that was lovely.
Puppies loved where we were as there we a couple of little ground squirrels.
I believe the little critters were not as fond of the puppies
as the puppies were of them!!!

After we headed through Hayden Valley,
and while it was wonderful and calming to drive through it,
there were not a lot of animals present to our eyes.
We did run across about 20 die hards with scopes and large lens and parking every which way..
Lee took a look with our binoculars..
 he has excellent eye sight..
said they appeared to be bison.
Everyone there regurgitated that they were in fact two grizzly bears grazing on a hillside.
Perhaps but that does not seem to fit the behavior we have come to know of Grizzlies in the wild.
We left the frenzied folks with their delusions.

Decided we still had time and took one more trip through Lamar Valley,
this provided us with many wonderful sightings.
Black bear sow with cub, coyote with a kill,
bison by the hundreds, antelope everywhere.. deer(black tail).
It was a grand send off for us..
and we ended our trip with a great time..
 made camp by night fall!

Left early in the morning for Great Falls Montana..
 rather a large city.
The RV Park is difficult to find even with GPS!
Many people here seem to be living in this park as there are a lot of small children here.

Lee and I found a buffet and had a wonderful dinner.
We also found the dog food we like best for the puppies
and new vest halters for them.
Yes indeed they have grown out of the extra small!!!
I also found a Bed Bath and Beyond...
 oh my what fun.

So our day is winding down,
it is very warm here and we will do little but rest and relax.

Tomorrow we cross the border once again
and enter our own country in the province of both our origins.
Hope to meet Bill Morden in Waterton National Park on the 10th..
looking forward to that.

So thanks for stopping by and catching up with us..
we so enjoy having you join us.
Treat each other well and with kindness.
As always I wish you all
Peace
