Back From Adams River

The Salmon run was amazing. Weather was good, but actually too good.
It was warmer this year then four years ago and thus the BIG PUSH by the last million or so fish was not happening!
A filming crew from Austria said that there was a wall of salmon in the lake at the mouth of the river just waiting to get in.
Locals indicated that there needed to be a big rainfall so the river would swell and then the last surge would be taking place.
It did not happen when we were there but we still had a great time.
We stood in the middle of the river and photographed fish swimming or actually walking on rocks to get upstream.
Saw some eggs and saw plenty of action.
The smell in some places drove folks away.
 This was good for us.
The less people, the more able we all were to photograph in peace.
We enjoyed the company we were in tremendously, and had fun during off shooting times.
Actually one of the folks we met there shared a secret that was not really a secret but we ended up photographing a beautiful water falls in that area.
We cut this trip short by one day as it was expected to get cold and cloudy that day.
I was not into freezing and wanted to come home anyway.
We had plans to go look at property with our good friends and so we decided that was what we would all do.
Spent the next couple of days touring the Grand Forks area , looking at real estate in that area and then the next day in the Keremeos area.
Both look promising.
But it all hinges on us selling this place before we make any serious committments.
Our friends left us on Sunday but it was a super visit.

Lee and I will now get all the last minute things done before we leave for parts south..
We are removing all vines from our pergola and hauling the waste to the dump,
 then painting the existing structure.
Then we will get our trees ready for winter
and from there on it is load the RV and away we go.

Now to edit the salmon run shots..
oh that is going to be fun as this time there will be some bracketted shots to do some HDR work.

Thanks again to Gord and Laura for a great week.
