Where have all the flowers gone?

Long time passing...

Well we have been in our home for three months now and things are coming together..
Our front yard is finished and looking exceptionally wonderful (even if it has no "growing" anything). We have a Chinese Goddess over looking the river bed, and beautiful glass beads in the dry river bed. We then commissioned a young artist to make us three steel fish swimming upstream.. they are gorgeous. He is at present making us a heron fishing that will be the finishing touch from him.
The river bed and river rocks were sprayed with sealant so they look wet.. and it is really lovely.

All our inside stuff is also done.. all the painting, repairs and what nots one has to deal with any house are completed.. oh wait.. one exception.. our custom blinds for the living room are expected in two weeks. All other windows are done and may I say they look wonderful.

We still have a few boxes to unpack, but seriously I could care less about them at this point. I may or may not unpack them.

Our summer was busy and we had company.. starting off with Darren Horn from Yellowknife NWT!
He came to help his dad and I with unpacking and what a job this lad did.. love you Darren.

Next we enjoyed Tiffany and grandson Benji and Mason from Stoney Plain, Alberta.
This was a sun and sand kind of holiday and a learning of independence for young Ben.
The weather co-operated beautifully and what fun we had.
Love you three.

Then came Julie and Geoff Townsend from St Pascal-Baylon Ontario.
It was Julie's 40th birthday and she wanted to spend it with us in Osoyoos.
So we had a five day birthday party complete with pink feathered boas, tiaras and pink sunglasses riding around in a brand new Mustang convertible.
During their stay Geoff tiled our landing and we are so grateful to him for that. Love you both

Then came Laura and Gordon Howe from Nanaimo BC and with them came goodies from the island and from their hearts.. they are great friends and actually have become family to Lee and I and the puppies!
Now it was Gordon's birthday and once again we celebrated for a whole week with a fantastic Flan.. by none other then Laura..
and a chef's dinner prepared by Gordon and myself..
wow..
we could definitely do a cooking show right from my very own kitchen!
I learned how to make Danish Pastry and for the first time in 50 years I made edible pastry..
Now we also have a beautifully painted Sunflower Mural and all four of us had a hand in doing..
now some of us did the prep work(thanks Lee)
and some of us did some trivial grunt work( me)
and then some of us did the most amazing job of shading, blending and painting.. creatively and wonderfully( thanks Gordon and Laura). My wall outside our apartment is fantastic..
Love you guys so much

Now while they were here we had another visitor arrive..
Steve Wolfe from San Pedro CA..
he is doing a tour through south eastern BC and on his way to Waterton National Park to partake in the annual Elk rut(with his camera).LOL
We had the pleasure of his company for four days and really enjoyed the experience.
Despite his "not getting" our beautifully coloured money.. you know most of our American friends have same coloured money in almost every denomination, so ours confuses them.
Ahem she says with tongue in cheek.
Loved having you here Lil Bro.

All company left the morning of the 4th and it seemed ever so quiet once everyone left.

So moving on and rather quickly I might add.
Lee has designed two wonderful PVC Pipes things along the outside of our RV so the sewer hoses never ever go in our "basement" compartments again.
Yea Lee.
We also have our medical insurance bought and paid for and have determined our departure date..

Arranged for security and the ever and trusting watchful eye of Rich the entire time we are not here.. thanks to you my almost son!
Our home will be in good hands and we are ever so grateful.
Love you too kid!

So you see life does move on no matter what happens in our lives. There is always a sunrise and sunset..

During our arrival back in Canada we have learned that someone near and dear to me personally is in stage four of cancer and not likely to make it out. I am truly saddened by this..

My long time friend and confidant has just also learned that she has a brain tumour and for that I am really and truly saddened as well.

Whatever might be wrong in our lives is simply trivial to this.. we are blessed and continue to be optimistic about each and every day we have ...right here and right now.

There is no warranty papers handed out with the life you are given and so it is up to us to take care of our vehicle and make the most of our journey for it is not just the destination but the stops you might make along the way that count too.

There could be another war on the horizon and this is a mistake.. this is not anyone's problem but the country that is in trouble.. let them sort their own issues out their way.
It is NONE OF OUR BUSINESS.
It is time we clean up our own back yard and take our own garbage out.. no one comes to our aid to do that... as it is OUR problem..
ditto with problems in other countries..
it is simply put
their problem.

So as we get ready for yet another adventure it is with the uncertainty of the times and with the expectation that we will once again enjoy the stops along the way..
no one can predict the outcome..
if we chance to meet somewhere along the way how lucky we will be. If not, please know you are welcome to come along for the ride, we enjoy having you with us.

As always, act in kindness to yourself and others
and PEACE my friends
